Liberia Needs a Visionary Leader, Not Just Political Collaborations
The political leader of the Movement for Progressive Change (MPC), Mr. Simeon Freeman, has expressed his opinion that political collaborations in Liberia will not solve the country's problems. Instead, Freeman believes that Liberia needs a visionary leader who has the capability and capacity to lead the country forward. He argues that political collaborations have not had a successful history in solving Liberia's problems, pointing out the dismal performance of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change, which comprised three political parties.
Mr. Freeman advises Liberians to ask hard questions and look for candidates who have the capacity to proffer better solutions. He notes that despite accepting the opposition amalgamation ideology twice, in 2017 and 2020, nothing has changed. Liberia is still struggling with poverty and hopelessness, and coalition arrangements have not worked in the past.
If elected in October, Freeman's administration will prioritize the use of public resources for the public good. He proposes a small and effective government that will reduce the size of the Liberian government, such as eliminating the Ministry of Agriculture and creating a private infrastructure to run agriculture programs that will benefit the poorest farmers.
In conclusion, Liberia needs a benevolent leader who has a clear vision for his country and people, and who has proven it in his life. Political collaborations may not be the best solution to Liberia's problems, and Liberians should carefully consider the candidates who have the capacity to proffer better solutions.
